The Chattahoochee Trail Horse Association, Inc. (CTHA) was formed in 1991 by several dedicated and enthusiastic horseback trail riders who shared a dream. The dream was to create a network of interconnecting horse trails across the Chattahoochee National Forest - sort of an equine Appalachian Trail...
In 1993, CTHA was incorporated as a 501(c)4 non-profit organization and is now the vehicle through which the dream is becoming a reality. The Bull Mountain Horse Trail and adjoining Jake Mountain Horse Camp facilities near Dahlonega, Georgia currently with two horse trailer parking areas and about 50 miles of trails, are the first results of our efforts. We are continuing to work with Forest Service and DNR to expand our trail network and facilities. Of course, we know how to play as well as work, offering members the best trail rides to be experienced anywhere. more>
When you join CTHA, you'll be able to participate in monthly trail rides on various horse trails throughout the Southeast, as well as group camping trips and other horse getaways. You can also come to our periodic educational equine seminars, clinics, cook-outs and parties. Plus, you'll enjoy the CTHA Newsletter and ride flyers on CTHA activities and trail riding news.
Our Poker Rides and other fundraising events are a great way to meet others and help fund our trail projects. We even have monthly trail work days for building and maintaining equine trails. When you help, you'll qualify for two awards programs to reward those who volunteer to work on our trail projects and spend time in the saddle trail riding.
All this while discovering new trails to ride while making new friends and supporting the future of horses on trails. Just download and print our application so you can start enjoying CTHA today. Download the application here. You may need Adobe Acrobat Reader. Get it here.

Join us for CTHA's first 2012 fund raising event! This will be a combination poker ride (a.m.) and scavenger hunt (p.m.) - yes, 2 events for one low cost! A H Stephens State Park will be hosting our event and funds raised will go to the park, ear marked for the equestrian trails and facility. This park is VERY horse friendly. There are about 11 miles of trails, 18 campsites that have water and will very soon (probably in time for this event) have electricity!!! There are high tie areas for your horses.
Please come show your support for this wonderful state park. Please send this flyer to all your horse friends - to spread the word. This event is open to everyone, not just CTHA members.
VOLUNTEERS are needed that weekend. Please consider spending some of your time helping out. Please call Debbie Crowe (phone number on flyer) so you can be added to the list. Just a few hours of your time will be most helpful!
