Welcome to CTHA
The Chattahoochee Trail Horse Association is committed to maintaining and improving the trail riding experience on north Georgia’s public lands. The club is comprised of trail riders who want to make a contribution to this effort whether monetarily or through a donation of their time.As evidenced by our success with the Jake/Bull Mountains trails located in the Chattahoochee National Forest close to Dahlonega, our members are dedicated to making the north Georgia trail riding experience the best in the Southeast. As a dues paying member or sponsor, you will be part of a group of trail riders who are making a difference.
Benefits Of Joining CTHA
When you join CTHA, you'll meet other trail riding enthusiasts and be able to participate in monthly trail rides on various horse trails throughout the Southeast, as well as group camping trips and other horse getaways. You can also attend periodic educational equine seminars, clinics, cook-outs and parties. Plus, you'll enjoy the CTHA Newsletter and ride flyers on CTHA activities and trail riding news.
Our Poker Rides and other fundraising events are a great way to meet others and help fund our trail projects. We even have monthly trail work days for building and maintaining equine trails. Lastly, CTHA is a sponsor/member of Back Country Horsemen of America, The Georgia Horse Council, and the Georgia Equine Rescue League. As such, we keep our members informed of the latest issues and programs that can impact the enjoyment of our favorite animals and trail riding.
All this while discovering new trails to ride, making new friends who have similar interests, and supporting the future of horses on trails.
The Chattahoochee Trail Horse Association, Inc. (CTHA) was formed in 1991 by several dedicated and enthusiastic horseback trail riders who shared a dream. The dream was to create a network of interconnecting horse trails across the Chattahoochee National Forest - sort of an equine "Appalachian Trail".
