Talk about fun! The CTHA Poker Ride on Saturday June 8, 2024 was awesome. The weather was perfect for riding and hanging out with friends. As usual the lunch and after ride camaraderie were excellent. No unintentional dismounts were reported and everyone enjoyed the Jake/Bull trails.
The November 12, 2023 Ellen Stara Memorial Ride was a huge success with approximately 40 riders/drivers participating. Many thanks to Bill Stara and the Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land for allowing us to visit Staraland and remember the many contributions Ellen made to our trails.
CTHA's October 7, 2023 Fun Horse Show was blessed with great weather and enthusiastic entrants in the many events. It was a lot of fun for everyone. Many thanks to Trahlyta Farms for hosting this event and to Mandy & Collin Vander Pol for some excellent photos. Check out this slideshow below.
The CTHA 2022 Christmas Party was a lot of fun. Relationships are everything and it was nice to see long time friends and new members attend. The holiday season is upon us and let us all be thankful for our friends including the four legged kind. Have a great Christmas and New Years. We look forward to an active 2023 with all our horse friends. As Ellen Stara would say, "Happy Trails".
Many thanks to Patty Livingston who is in charge of the new CTHA Chorus. Five acts tried out at the Christmas Party. Here are clips of their efforts. Let Patty know if you're interested in joining the group.
Elllen Stara Memorial Ride - Sunday November 20, 2022
Sunday morning November 20, 2022 started with temps below freezing, but that didn't stop 30 riders and another 20+ people from attending the Ellen Stara Memorial Ride and visiting Staraland. Ellen had quite an impact on CTHA and horse trails in north Georgia. She is missed.
Getting the word out and educating people about trails is an important function of CTHA. One of ways we do that is to have booths at appropriate gatherings. Below are a couple such instances taken this past September.
On September 24th CTHA had a booth in Blairsville at the Appalachian Trail Day celebrating National Trails Day. Below is a picture of Jim & Ann Wyrosdick and Cindy Groom. The guy on the right appeared suddenly as the picture was taken. He seemed to be well fed which was good news for them.
CTHA had a booth at this year's Trail Fest held in Dahlonega on September 17th. Cindy Groom took a picture of Jim Wyrosdick and Erma McClain staffing the booth.
Here's a few pics below from the May 5,2018 Jake Mountain workday. Four pack animals moved 1,800 lbs of rock to Jones Creek in preparation for a bank stabilization project. 80 hours of volunteer time put in and everyone enjoyed the Cinco de Mayo lunch from Cindy Groom!

Just because your hubby won't ride a horse doesn't mean that the family can't ride together. Check out Bobbie Byers' entourage on a recent trip to Dupont National Forest. (see below)
